180g vinyl pressing of 'Ascenseur Pour L'échafaud' (Elevator To The Gallows) film music composed by Miles Davis, housed in a gatefold sleeve with detailed liner notes and photos from the recording sessions by the iconic photograper Jean-Pierre Leloir.
This release contains the complete original 10-inch LP Ascenseur pour l'échafaud (Fontana 660.213), consisting of a suite of Miles Davis' music for Louis Malle's film of the same title (it was premiered in the United States as Frantic). This music was later released in the United States on the 12" LP Jazz Track (Columbia CL1268), adding to the suite an outstanding session by Miles' sextet featuring John Coltrane, Cannonball Adderley, and Bill Evans.
