Resavoir are back with new (old) music today, sharing a reflective miniature that stirs the haze of a distant memory. Originally commissioned by Chicago's Public Media Institute for their 2020 real-time history-writing publication Quarantine Times, "Life Before" goes wide today in the wake of Resavoir's 2023 self-titled LP Resavoir (which followed their 2019 debut LP, also titled Resavoir), and ahead of their UK, EU, and US shows inNovember/December 2024.
"Life Before" was composed by Resavoir bandleader Will Miller in collaboration with graphic designer and illustrator Crystal Zapata. Drawing inspiration from the works of 1960s and 70s Italian film composers like Piero Umiliani, Piero Piccioni, and Alessandro Alessandroni, the track blends piano and synthesizer by Miller with double bass by Lane Beckstrom and drums by Peter Manheim.
