It's said that tenor saxophonist Stan Getz and trumpeter Chet Baker never particularly liked each other and even though they had musically compatible styles, they only worked together briefly in three periods. This 1958 session, produced by Norman Granz, exposes the two musicians' mutual hostility towards one another in subtle ways, which at the time divided critical opinion on the release. Nonetheless, this is an LP worthy of being in the collection of any Getz and Baker fan - musically controversial as the LP might be.
