The Stone Roses' self-titled debut album took the industry by storm in 1989, as it seemingly bridged the gap the Beatles and Stones. Their second album, which took five years to complete, didn't disappoint when released after all the anticipation.
'Second Coming' consolidates the sounds displayed previously with an erratic dose of hard-rock driving songs – with emphatic electric guitars riffs and fat beats. 'Ten Storey Love Song' is a devotional ballad with a melody a la Dylan, and 'Your Star Will Shine', a psychedelic folk ditty that would have fit on an early Bee Gees album. If you loved the band's seminal debut album, there's a handful of gems you'll dig in this one.
